St. Maria Goretti
Maria's feast day, celebrated on July 6, was inserted in the General Roman Calendar for all of the priests to come and worship her for the day. It was revised in 1969 and took place in early 1970. Maria always felt good and wanted greater for the people of the town that didn't have much because the fortunate reminded her of herself as a kid when she had little money. When Maria didn't know what to do because she didn't have much food, she looked and never lost hope but since her family didn't have a lot of money for food they looked for scraps.
When Maria died she was alone and was raped but then after stabbed 11 times then her body was found 2 days later and then had a funeral 1 months after where everyone over the world gathered and praised her and what she did in her life. Even though other countries wanted to worship her body when she died, what they did was make a plastic replica of her and most of the time put in a decorative coffin ( gold ribbon Gaelan ).
Maria was inspirational, a good role model and loved helping others she showed so many characteristics of inspiration like she helped people realize they have done a sin and would help them change and help them live a happy life but especially since other people felt sad and bad that she died at a certain age and showed so much respect but people most important restored the respect to her when she died as she did to them.
Even though Maria was a pre-teen, when she died she has taught everyone so much about what it truly means to forgive, love and be merciful.
Maria loved life.
